Review: Tethered CD Release Party – Granada 12/01/12
It’s been a while …
Opener was Uncle Lucius, R&B, country, blues band from South Austin.
We enjoyed them, check em out at https://www.facebook.com/unclelucius
Crank it up
Monte, Phil and David started the show with River – lots of attitude, go Phil!
Wishing Well with Tom Robinson on sax
Could’ve Loved You Forever
Mighty Fist of Love with James Speer on keys
(James has a really cool frame for his keys; kinda looks like Schroeder’s toy piano from Charlie Brown)
I Believe in Angels with James and Tom
I Hope Friday Never Comes
Statues
When Will I – back and forth between Monte and Tom – Killer version!
Moonlight Tango (aka Booty Tango)
Monte picks up his Les Paul, Welcome to Greentown
Monte puts down the Les Paul “What the hell is that? It scared me.”
I Couldn’t Leave You if I Tried
Monte picks up Parker, “This is for Sofie” – Never Forget (brought a tear to my eye)
“Thanks for coming, please pick up a copy of Tethered”.
Encore
Phil and James do a song together. I think the name of the song was Pride – James is a killer singer and keyboardist
Monte, David and Tom return. Monte gives thanks to Mike and Julia, saying it was good to be back (at the Granada)
All We Are is Love
Crowd shouting requests – Monte asks the crowd to sing Happy Birthday to his fiancé’, Cindy; crowd participates.
“I gotta do an old Hall & Oates song requested – Sara Smile, with crowd singing “forever” – nice sustaining vocals and sax solo- again Monte and Tom “chasing”
Superstition – with guitar percussion, cow bell drum solo and kick ass keys – into Led Zeppelin, Heartbreaker- absolute greatness! Monte and David both put down their guitars down and feed back keeps coming (not the bad, nasty feed back, the good kind!) band exists
Monte comes on stage with feed back still going and starts his Little Wing intro – SYKE! Into Six String Wooden Friend, Monte Solo
Show ends
It was a packed house! It was great to see Magnolia Thunder Blossom in the house (she is looking great), along with John, Kat, Melissa and other familiar and new faces. The new music is great, if you haven’t gotten a copy of Tethered yet, you need to. You can get it here:

or at the next live show you see.
Support and share the love.
