Posted on: June 24th, 2009 Rock and Roll is hard but not forgotten.

Day 1 - Dude, where’s my car? Not the movie, but in real life. No rental car at the airport when I arrived.

Day 2 - Played 1st solo gig of the tour at Berklee in Boston. Dude, where’s my money? I cleared that up the following day.

Day 3 - (the following day) After temporarily impersonating a collection agency officer/wayward musician, I got paid for last night’s gig. Then, having learned that my 3 day hotel reservation was really a 2 day hotel reservation, I sought and found shelter in a nearby and much nicer Sheraton thanks to my sister Kathy and her seemingly endless knowledge of how to type words into a search engine on the internet. Words like “find” and “hotel” and “nice”. Then, with the help of my sidekick Jay, I launched my 1st live webcast from my newly upgraded hotel room. I sang songs and said things like “Is this thing on?” until an eventual surrender of understanding technology made itself apparent to anyone who happened to have been exposed to the comedy of errors that will be forever remembered in my mind as ‘the day I thought I could do something other then play guitar.” Monte is to guitar, as technologicly advanced is to squirrel. So join me, won’t you? As I will be broadcasting from various locations from the road whenever I have internet access and the time that it takes to act like I have something interesting to say. Throw in sea food, bowling, Apple Store, espresso and Thai food and you get a general feeling of what day three was like.

To follow my webcasts from ‘Life Out On The Road’, go to www.facebook.com/themontemontgomery I will announce the webcasts from there, get ready to chat to me live from the road.

Day 4…tomorrow

Hi Monte. I have been watching LFDH, and I can’t stop watching your episode, over and over again. Your amazing rendition of Sara Smile, and the guitar playing is beyond great. It is one of my all time favorite songs. As I wrote on that website, I feel like I’ve died and gone to heaven. You and Daryl are fantastic, and together — well I can’t describe it!! Please return to Daryl’s as a regular guest. I will be looking forward to it. Great music and songwriting will live forever!!

Was introduced to you via LFDH. I am hooked! (thank-you Daryl!!!) I am completely blown away by your talent. Nice web site too. Two things though, I may have missed it, where can I purchase your albums? Also, I see you’re booked for the rest of the year and after that tour I’m sure you will be ready for a break. Any chance you may be playing the Tampa/St Pete area next year? Would love to see you live and have several friends that are llive music junkies too. Have a ROCKIN’ 4th of July!!!

Love what you do Monte. Keep up the “great” work. Question what type and what gauge strings do you use?

    Hey Monte,

Was at the Fairfield CT show and was glad to see you decided to make a little coin. Had been at the Fairfield show a year earlier…w/band, and no CD’s, etc to sell after. Hey, you and the band were GREAT but, at $27 a ticket, I was like how does this guy make a @#% cent! Next time, if you want, bring the band back, add $10-$15 a seat and you will still sell FTC out in a week. Take care, and look forward to seeing you next time you’re in the area. Best,

    Karl

Monte, the Berklee show was excellent as always. You know when in Boston if you ever need anything: lodging assistance, food + beverage, or muscle to collect for the gig; we got your back. Would have bowled a couple strings as well.
